Crimson, medium sized and beautifully fragrant apples are best picked and eaten fresh from the trees. Worcester Pearmain apples can be eaten as early as August in the South of England. Tip bearer, producing huge crops especially when Charles Ross is used as its pollinator. This beautiful apple is susceptible to scab but resistant to frost. Worcester Pearmain originated in the market garden of Mr Hale at Swan Pool, near Worcester in the 1870's and is probably a seedling from Devonshire Quarrenden. It has in turn proved an excellent parent to some outstanding modern varieties, including Lord Lambourne, Elton Beauty, and Discovery.

See our section on Pollination Groups to help you select your apple trees. The rootstock for all our apple trees is the most vigorous available. We try to offer as many apple varieties as we can on M25 rootstock, which will produce the standard trees of a traditional orchard, where they would be planted between 6 and 8 metres apart. Please refer to our size guide for details. All our Worcester Pearmains are bare root. At the height of the lifting season there may be up to a months delay between placing the order and dispatching due to pressure of orders, which are dealt with in date sequence, and the weather. Orders for apple trees taken from March to September are confirmed in September ready for dispatch from November. Please note there is an overall minimum order size of £50.
