| | | Bat Box Bats enjoy sheltered warm roosts, which is why this box is black, to absorb heat. It is made of woodcrete, which helps maintain a constant temperature as it provides excellent insulation. It should be hung 3- 6m high in a south facing location, preferably in a group and close to water. Please use the Aluminium nail that should be inside the boxes to fix them to trees. We can also source other types of bat roosts on request. The Bat Conservation Trust have all sorts of helpful advice on encouraging these helpful and increasingly endangered mammals.
