Blackcurrants are scarcer than Redcurrants in the wild, but are also chiefly found in wetter situations in southern England. They flower early and are consequently vulnerable to frost damage, so should not be planted on exposed sites. They are a prolific early nectar source for bees and the varieties we sell wil in combination give you fruit all summer.
