 | | | Perennials for Sun or Part Shade: Coneflower (Echinacea) Echinacea is a classic late blooming border perennial, and very helpful nectar source from July. Coneflowers are now available on all sorts of colours, but remain hardy and reliable. Leave their seedheads over the winter for the birds. Echinacea has long been used medicinally, orginally by native Americans. Confusingly shares the same English synonym with Rudbeckia.
Varieties:
Echinacea 'After Midnight': rosy-red, dwarf habit
Echinacea 'Arts Pride': soft orange-red
Echinacea 'Fatal Attraction': bright purple-pink
Echinacea 'Sundown': intense orange
If we cannot find exactly the variety you would like in the nursery at the moment and we can find a very close alternative, we hope it is acceptable to supply it in lieu. Before we do so, however, we will ask you if you would be happy to accept a substitute.
