| | | Conservation Hedge Mix These plants are 60/90cms high and will produce a traditional mixed country hedge, providing a solid barrier within three years of planting, or if you prefer will lay well after 4-5 years. To make a stockproof hedge, whips must be planted at 4 or 5 plants per metre in a staggered double row. Our conservation mix is 70% Hawthorn and 5 other mixed native species of native hedging plants chosen by us from a list that includes Blackthorn, Crab Apple, Dog Rose, Dogwood, Field Maple, Guelder Rose, Hazel, Spindle, Field Rose, Wayfaring Tree. Sold in packs of 50 plants. If you have horses and they will be able to graze the hedge when it is established, we recommend our stock friendly hedging, which is also made up of native hedging plants and sold in packs of 50 plants.
These hedge whips are bare root, so they are available for delivery from November until March. During the lifting season there may be up to two weeks delay between placing the order and despatch, due to weather conditions or pressure of orders, which are dealt with in date sequence. Orders for hedging plants placed between March and September are confirmed in October ready for despatch from November.
