| | | Damson Tree - Farleigh Origin: Farleigh, Kent, 1820 Type: Culinary Flowering Group : 4 Rootstock: St Julian A or Brompton A Size : Maiden Harvest : September
This small damson is heavy cropping; Farleigh produces lovely oval blue-black fruit with a purple bloom. The damsons have exceptional flavour. Farleigh damson trees are partially self-fertile, but fertility would be improved by planting with an appropriate pollinator like like Shropshire Prune. RHS AGM. Damsons are more tolerant of wet soils than plums and hardier, but are also prone to silver leaf. Supplier : R.V. Roger Ltd. We donate half of our profits on sales of Farleigh damson trees to Common Ground
All our damson trees are bare root. At the height of the lifting season - between November and March - there may be up to a months delay between placing the order and dispatching due to pressure of orders, which are dealt with in date sequence, and the weather. Orders for damson trees from March to September are confirmed in late October/ early November ready for dispatch from November. Please consult our planting and care guide on receipt of your order.
