Merryweather is the damson you are most likely to find in gardens. It is self fertile and makes lovely damson jams and chutneys. Merryweather is a heavy cropper; its large round blue-black fruit which are acidic but juicy. Damsons are more tolerant of wet soils than plums and hardier, but still prone to silver leaf. All our damson trees are bare root. At the height of the lifting season - between November and March - there may be up to a months delay between placing the order and dispatching due to pressure of orders, which are dealt with in date sequence, and the weather. Orders for damson trees from March to September are confirmed in late October/ early November ready for dispatch from November. Please consult our planting and care guide on receipt of your order.
