| | | Gage Tree - Green Gage Origin: Armenia Type: Dessert Flowering Group : 3 Rootstock: St Julian A Size : Maiden Harvest : August
Green Gage is an Irregular cropper but delicious. An ancient variety, thought to have arrived in Britain in 1724, when it was imported from Paris by a young Catholic priest, John Gage. It is thought to be the French variety Reine Claude, but it lost its label in transit and the gardener at Hengrave Hall, the Gages' seat, renamed it. Self fertile. Supplier : R.V. Roger Ltd. We donate half of our profits on sales of Green Gages to Common Ground
All our gage trees are bare root. At the height of the lifting season - between November and March - there may be up to a months delay between placing the order and dispatching due to pressure of orders, which are dealt with in date sequence, and the weather. Orders for gages from March to September are confirmed in late October/ early November ready for dispatch from November. Please consult our planting and care guide on receipt of your order.
