| | | Hedgehog House This superior hedgehog box is hand made in Dorset from western red cedar, so will not need treating to stay weather proof. It's made from 1" thick timber and designed to provide a warm, dry and secure habitat for Hedgehogs to shelter, nest and raise their young in.
There's much more to our hedgehog box than more widely commercially available designs. It features a side entry internal passage for hedgehogs with a second entry into the secure nest chamber at the end of the passage. The roof has a layer of butyl liner under the boarded roof to keep out any water. The base has a removable panel to enable it to be cleaned out and the whole box is raised on four feet to prevent damp coming in from underneath. The rear of the box also has ventilation holes just under the roof in the rear wall and these are baffled to prevent draughts. What more could a hedgehog ask for!
