Nest Boxes

Bats are protected by law but nevertheless all the different species are in serious danger of extinction. Apart from birds and spiders, they are among the most important insect predators; during the course of a summer each large bat will consume up to a kilo of insects, which amounts to half a million insects.

Our Hedgehog and Frog and Toad refuges provide valuable shelter from predators in unhelpful local environments. Animals like domestic cats predate large numbers of amphibia, and badgers and foxes find hedgehogs a tasty snack.

Bat Box
Bats enjoy sheltered warm roosts, which is why this box is black, to absorb heat. It should be hung 3- 6m high in a south facing location, preferably in a group and close to water. There is a minimum order of 2 boxes.
