| | | Plum Tree - Coe's Golden Drop Origin: Suffolk, 1880s Plum Type: Dessert Flowering Group : 3 Rootstock: St. Julian A Size : Maiden Harvest : September
Arguably the very best flavoured of all dessert plums, Coe's Golden Drop has a delicious sweet apricot like flavour. Its plums are a pretty golden-yellow speckled with a cinnamon coloured bloom, with a very sweet, rich, apricot-like flavour. The tree owes its name to its propagator Jervais Coe, the head gardener of the Gage estate at Bury St. Edmunds, who is said to have crossed a Green Gage with a White Magnum Bonum to have created it. It needs a sunny sheltered site to prosper and is self-sterile, so needs a pollinator. Supplier : R.V. Roger Ltd. We donate half of our profit on sales of Coe's Golden Drop plum trees to Common Ground
All our plum trees are bare root. At the height of the lifting season - between November and March - there may be up to a months delay between placing the order and dispatching due to pressure of orders, which are dealt with in date sequence, and the weather. Orders for Coe's Golden Drop plum trees from March to September are confirmed in late October/ early November ready for dispatch from November. Please consult our planting and care guide on receipt of your order.
