A wildlife garden without a pond is like a theatre without a stage. (Chris Baines) Drainage schemes in the countryside have meant that wetlands are another of Britain's vanishing habitats, and it is thought a third of ponds have disappeared over the last 50 years. The impact on their related fauna has been massive; even the Common Toad is now on the Government's biodiversity action plan "watchlist".
We are particularly pleased with the
pond plant collections we offer and our excellent value
water lilies. Our supplier is a Flora Locale code of practice signatory, and our aquatic plant collections are carefully selected by experts - you won't find any invasive species like the water fern in the photo. We have a
video on YouTube of Matthew Wilson working on a project in Yorkshire with one of our partners using some of the plants available.
We offer courses on
creating a wildlife pond or a full advisory and design service. If you're interested in this service please get in touch using our
contact form. If you have a smaller size project we suggest you call
Pond Conservation for advice.
