| | | Rose, rugosa (Rosa rugosa) Rosa rugosa can make excellent hedge plants; not only are they very spiny, but it suckers freely - we bud our plants on R. laxa to avoid this. Rosa rugosa are easy to grow, and is tough and disease resistant. Their fragrant single flowers (avoid doubles) are a good source of pollen and bright red hips impenetrable habit make them helpful for birds.
