| | | Perennials for Sun or Part Shade: Rosemary (Rosmarinus officinalis) Rosemary, with its upright purple/blue flower spikes and aromatic foliage, was probably introduced into Britain by Edward III's Queen, Philippa. Many culinary uses, and Rosemary honey is delicious; it has always also been a popular plant for herbalists as well as bees. The first English Herbal, printed in 1525, recommends Rosemary for inducing peaceful sleep, and by the late 16th century it was widely grown in formal gardens here. As a Mediterranean plant Rosemary is drought resistant, but will not do well on clay. It will make an attractive fragrant medium sized hedge. We supply it in a good sized 3 litre pot from May to October.
Flowers: April - June Soil type: Well drained Supplier: R.V.Roger Ltd. We donate half of our profit on sales of Rosemary to The Bumblebee Conservation Trust
