| | | Spindle (Euonymus europaeus) Spindle, or Spindleberry, is a fast growing very pretty shrub/small tree, tolerant of most well drained conditions, although mainly occuring on calcareous soils in the south. If you are looking for a similar small tree for more acidic soils, look at Rowan. Spindle bears tiny flowers in Spring followed by dayglow pink berries enclosing orange seeds. In the unlikely event you don't spot them, you will see its beautiful Autumn foliage. Spindle is found in ancient woods and in hedgerows. These Spindle plants are all bare root, and are consequently available for delivery from November until March (please ask if you are interested in pot grown plants). During this period there may be up to two weeks delay between placing the order and dispatching, due to weather conditions or pressure of orders, which are dealt with in date sequence. Orders for Spindle plants placed between March and September are confirmed in October ready for dispatch from November.
