 | | | Trees for Light Soils: Wild Pear (Pyrus pyraster) Like the Crab Apple, the Wild Pear is distinct from feral pears from pips. It is a slow growing small tree, tolerant of most well drained soils, including light soils. Pretty white blossom, and although its pears are hard and inedible to humans they are not, however, to a myriad of small mammals. Provenance certificates are available on request for Wild Pear trees, which are from the Southwest of England. These trees are all bare root, and are consequently available for delivery from November until March. During the lifting season there may be up to two weeks delay between placing the order and dispatching, due to weather conditions or pressure of orders, which are dealt with in date sequence. Orders placed between March and September are confirmed in September ready for dispatch from November.
