 | | | Perennials for Sun or Part Shade: Yarrow (Achillea)
Achillea cultivars not only attract butterflies and bees, but are often visited by hoverflies and ladybirds. They are drought tolerant and their plate-like flowers bloom all summer. You will find Common Yarrow in many of our native seed mixes and plug plant collections. It has many synonyms, including Milfoil and Nose Bleed and Woundwort, reflecting its supposed ability to reduce conditions associated with high blood pressure.
Varieties:
'Cloth of Gold' : deep gold yellow flowers, dries well
'Moonshine' : light yellow flowers, RHS AGM
If we cannot find exactly the variety you would like in the nursery at the moment and we can find a very close alternative, we hope it is acceptable to supply it in lieu. Before we do so, however, we will ask you if you would be happy to accept a substitute.
