Acacia dealbata (Mimosa tree or Silver Wattle)
Acacia dealbata, or Mimosa tree, or Silver Wattle, is a vigorous fast growing evergreen tree growing to around 30m. It's a tree which establishes quickly after forest fires. A native of Australia, it is drought tolerant but needs a warm, sunny, and sheltered spot with lots of room. Its leaves are attractive; feathery and blue-green. Acacia dealbata has fragrant and exotic nectar rich flowers, which look like strings of fluffy yellow balls. It flowers from Winter to early Spring and, consequently, is a really useful tree for bees. Recommended by The British Beekeepers' Association
