Flowering Lawn Seed Mix

This flowering lawn seed mix will produce low maintenance wildflower grassland which can be managed as a lawn from October to March but cut less intensively during spring and summer, when successive flushes of wildflowers will bloom. Flowering lawns are ideal for country parks, in domestic orchards and as a transition from formal garden to outlying area. "Flowery meads" were an important component of medieval gardens, and provide a fantastic colourful, low maintenance and wildlife friendly alternative to the "traditional" lawn. Cut curving paths through them to create a lovely effect. Like all our native wildflower seed, this element has guaranteed UK provenance. The grasses are certified meadow species, so nothing which will overwhelm the wildflowers. We also offer a similar wildflower mix without the grasses as plug plants.

Your purchase helps us support a range of charities which are related to the products we sell.

We strongly recommend reading up on wildflower meadows before buying seed - see our resources section and brief guide to preparation and aftercare, which includes links to our "how to" blogs and video.

Although we test our seed and it has high germination rates, you need to be careful about initial care and establishing an annual regime. Don't be put off though - once you get the hang of it it's pretty straightforward.
