Belle de Louvain was probably introduced by Van Mars of Belgium. It makes a wonderful small plum tree with large leaves. Belle de Louvain plums are very large with a bright yellow flesh, and make excellent jam. Although this variety is partly self fertile, yields will be improved by planting with an appropriate pollinator.
These 2-3 year old plants are over 120cm with a clear stem of 80cm and several lateral branches. They will grow up to around 4m.
