Dorset Wildflower Meadow Seed Mix

This beautiful Dorset meadow mixture is for heavy soils that are naturally fertile. The wildflower species are chosen to persist in areas of higher fertility typically alluvial soils, soils with high clay content, or those that have a history of cultivation. Species used here are better adapted to flower when in competition with the grass species which thrive in heavy soils. Yellow Rattle, once established, will reduce sward height and maintenance.
The seed is harvested from sites in Dorset, from wild plant populations. We also offer various "direct harvest" mixes from Dorset, which you can see described on our sister site, British Wildflower Meadow Seeds.

Your purchase helps us support a range of charities which are related to the products we sell.

We strongly recommend reading up on wildflower meadows before buying seed - see our resources section and brief guide to preparation and aftercare, which includes links to our "how to" blogs and video.

Although we test our seed and it has high germination rates, you need to be careful about initial care and establishing an annual regime. Don't be put off though - once you get the hang of it it's pretty straightforward.
