Grazing Meadow Seed Mix

This grazing mix is essentially a selection of grasses with an added wildflower element to improve diet (and biodiversity!). The wildflowers do not include anything which might be injurious to livestock, and the hay is very palatable too. Suitable for all stock, including horses, ponies, sheep and cows. The wildflower seeds have guaranteed UK provenance, and are a combination of cornfield annuals and perennial meadow species. The grass element is certified, very diverse, and consists of a traditional collection of species. It's supplied by a lovely wildlife friendly Cornish company, who specialise in processing their own seed.

As this is an agricultural mix we sell it by the amount required for one acre, in this case 13.75 kg; 13 kg grasses (including Red clover) and 0.75 kg wildflowers - or just over 5% native wildflower seed and 95% mixed grasses and clover.

We strongly recommend reading up on wildflower meadows before buying seed - see our resources section and brief guide to preparation and aftercare, which includes links to our "how to" blogs and video.

Although we test our seed and it has high germination rates, you need to be careful about initial care and establishing an annual regime. Don't be put off though - once you get the hang of it it's pretty straightforward.
