Wool Rolls

Wool Rolls

Wool rolls are a a relatively new product, and one we're excited to be able to offer. They have been extensively tested in various sites around the UK as a more sustainable alternative to coir rolls for wetland/peatland restoration. Since their initial introduction in 2023 they have become a useful commercial proposition for sheep farmers in the Yorkshire Dales to sell their wool at a reasonable price.

Please bear in mind that when they arrive they are white, before their colour settles down.

Wool Rolls as a Landscaping Product

Wool rolls aren't just a useful tool for creating small scale dams for wetland restoration projects. Their durability and value as a growing medium also means they are helpful in establishing marginal planting and erosion control too.

In summary, the advantages of wool:

• Excellent water retention
• Good aeration
• Slow release nutrients
• Biodegradable but durable
• Renewable British material
• Can absorb and release nutrients
• Deer deterrent

We sell them in handy 1m lengths with a large 30cm diameter.
