Quince Tree - Vranja
Origin: 1800, Serbia
Rootstock: Quince A
Size : Maiden
Harvest : October
Vranja has pretty pink blossom and very large early fruit, which has made it a popular quince since its relatively recent introduction in the UK. Like all quinces it needs a protected warm site, but its ornamental and culinary value make it well worth trying to find a spot for a tree. Self fertile, although yields will rise if you have two trees. Unlike most quinces, Vranja can be successfully trained up a wall.
