Wildflower plug plant selection for lawns
"Flowery meads" were an important component of medieval gardens and are now enjoying a comeback. They provide a fantastic low maintenance and wildlife friendly alternative to the "traditional" lawn. These trays of 104 6cm plug plants are perfect for creating small areas of wildflower lawn. If you want to plant them into grass, clear a small circle of grass around where you want to plant each plug to enable the plants to establish. Reckon on planting at 5 per square metre.
The plants in this selection are chosen from a mixture of: Autumn Hawkbit, Basil, Bird's Foot Trefoil, Cowslip, Daisy, Dandelion, Germander Speedwell, Meadow Buttercup, Ribwort Plantain, Selfheal, Sorrel, White Clover, Yarrow
** Please note: We may substitute other suitable plug plants depending on availability and season **
One tray costs £75, meaning these small (55cc) wildflower plug plants work out at 52p/plant before VAT and delivery. Use 5 per square metre. This is a useful way of quickly establishing plants, particularly in existing sward and/or for smaller areas. These British wildflowers aren't just attractive and good sources of nectar, but they're also essential foodplants for butterfly and moth larvae.
Our wildflowers for lawns are grown from guaranteed native seed, most of which is collected by the suppliers themselves. They're grown without the use of peat, fungicides or pesticides.
