Devon Wildflower Meadow Mix
This mix of grasses and wildflowers has been harvested from 70 acres of traditional hay meadows on the edge of the Blackdown Hills. It is very similar to a seed mix we have successfully trialled on a demonstration site on relatively heavy soil here. The Devon meadow mix includes several unusual wildflower species which you won't find in other commercially available seed mixes, including the Common spotted orchid and the Corky fruited Water Dropwort, which is only found in the Southwest.
The mix also includes some of our most beautiful and delicate native grasses, and the harvesters have also included a handful of cornfield annuals, including Corncockle.

We strongly recommend reading up on wildflower meadows before buying seed - see our resources section and brief guide to preparation and aftercare, which includes links to our "how to" blogs and video.
Although we test our seed and it has high germination rates, you need to be careful about initial care and establishing an annual regime. Don't be put off though - once you get the hang of it it's pretty straightforward.
