Premium Bat Box
A cleverly designed bat box with three vertical chambers, of different sizes, suitable for a variety of species. A rough landing surface, coupled with an access ladder, offers the best access.
Built to last (with a 20 year guarantee) and designed by UK mammal specialists the Vincent Wildlife Trust, this bat box has been validated by the confirmed presence of at least seven species.
There's no need to clean the box because droppings naturally fall to the ground. All bats are protected by law, so if you don't have a licence it's illegal to open a box like this anyway!

Bat Box Use
Bats have been particularly hard hit by a shortage of safe roosting sites, so providing them is a real benefit. They're a really valuable part of any ecosystem, and such a pleasure to watch at dusk on a summer evening.
These batboxes can be used on buildings or trees, positioned as high as possible - at least 5m, if you can get that high. Bats need a clear flightpath to access the box, and it should also be sheltered. Experts suggest putting a number of boxes up reasonably close together (even on the same tree), pointing in different directions - perhaps north, southeast and southwest. Bats seem to have variable roosting requirements. If you've noticed them around, find a place where you've seen them flying.
