Pyramidal Orchid (Anacamptis pyramidalis)

The Pyramidal orchid is found naturally in more southerly areas in the UK, in short semi-natural chalk and limestone grasslands. It's a beauty, flowering in high summer, although its appearance varies from white (rare) to deep magento. Like many orchids, it needs a fungus in the soil to bloom.
