Apple Tree - Charles Ross

Charles Ross apples are greenish-yellow, flushed red and striped. A cross between Cox's Orange Pippin (from which it gets some of its flavour) and Peasgood's Nonsuch, (hence its size). Modestly sized tree tolerant of a wide range of soils and climates. Charles Ross is a popular garden apple in Scotland as it's happy in colder conditions.

Supplier : R.V. Roger Ltd.

See our section on Pollination Groups to help you select your apple trees.
The rootstock for all our apple trees is the most vigorous available. We try to offer as many apple varieties as we can on M25 rootstock, which will produce the standard trees of a traditional orchard, where they would be planted between 6 and 8 metres apart. The next size down, M106 (or MM106) will give you a strong garden sized tree, typically up to around 4m or so. Please refer to our size guide for details.

Like all our apple trees, we offer Charles Ross bare root, so they are only available between November and April. During lifting season, there will be a delay between placing the order and dispatching due to pressure of orders, which are dealt with in date sequence, and the weather. Orders taken from June-October will be confirmed in late October/ early November after a nursery stock take, for dispatch from November. Please consult our planting and care guide on receipt of your order.

Your purchase helps us support a range of charities, which are related to the products we sell.
