A very pleasant late season eating apple. Small fruity and refreshing red apples, good cropper, and used to be widely grown commercially. Award RHS medal in 1922 after showing at the Imperial fruit show, although originally raised in Ascot by grower John Standish fifty years earlier. Good canker resistance, so will do well in the wet west too.
