The good folk of Angers are rightly proud of the Doyenne du Comice; we stumbled across this display case celebrsating one of the very best pears in the local museum. 

Doyenne du Comice is recommended for its exceptional taste, although it needs a warm and sheltered site. Doyenne du Comice is self sterile, so requires a pollinator; see our section on Pollination Groups

All our pear trees, including Doyenne du Comice, are bare root, so they are only available between November and April. During lifting season, there will be a delay between placing the order and dispatching due to pressure of orders, which are dealt with in date sequence, and the weather. Orders taken from June-October will be confirmed in late October/ early November after a nursery stock take, for dispatch from November.
