Red Magnum Bonum is an ancient plum, certainly in England before 1629. Previously known as Red Imperial, under which name is was introduced by noted naturalist and plantsman, John Tradescent. Its fruit is purple with bloom, medium-large, long and oval in shape. Although Red Magnum Bonum is self fertile, yields are likely to be improved by planting with an appropriate pollinator.

These 2-3 year old plants are over 120cm with a clear stem of 80cm and several lateral branches. They will grow up to around 4m.
